Mac McCain was born on February 6, 1998, in Greensboro, North Carolina. In his final two seasons at James B. Dudley High School, where he accumulated 96 tackles and was selected for all-area honorable mention, he graduated.
McCain was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent after being passed over in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was released on August 29 and later added to the practice squad.
