Mattew Aurel Brash, popularly known as Matt Brash in the world of Baseball is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of the Major League Baseball. Matt made his MLB official debut in 2022.
Born on May 12, 1998, the 23-year-old pitcher attended Baybridge secondary school in Kingston and later entered the Niagra University in Lewiston where he played college baseball for the Purple Eagles.
In 2019, Matt was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. It was there that he made his professional debut in Arizona League Padres and Fort Wayne TinCaps completing with a 1.69ERA over 5 innings. He was selected as the Double-A Central Pitcher of the week on August 16-22 later that season.
Brash was bought off by the Seattle Mariners on September 17, 2020, after Taylor Williams have been traded. He played for the Everett Aquasox and the Arkansas Travelers in the 2021 season with a combined 2.31 ERA and 142 strikeouts over 97 innings.
