Matt Prater Parents: Meet Stacy Prater and John Prater

For the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, Matt Prater kicks extra points as a professional football player. He stands 1.78 m tall and weighs 91 kg. He attended Estero High School in Estero, Florida, and played high school football there. He played collegiate football for the University of Central Florida Knights for four seasons.

Over the course of his college career, he played in 46 games and converted 50 of 74 field goals, with a long of 53 yards. He is fourth all-time in school history with 258 points, and he shares the record with his school with 50 field goals.

As an undrafted free agent, Prater was signed by the Detroit Lions in May 2006. A contract with the Atlanta Falcons was soon after signed by him. In November 2007, he was added to the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad. Prater left the Dolphins’ practice squad in December 2007, and the Denver Broncos later acquired him. The Detroit Lions acquired him in October 2014 for a single season.

The Arizona Cardinals and Prater agreed to a two-year contract in March 2021. He made all four extra points in a 37-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 of the 2021 season. He also made three field goals. The NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honor was given to him for his efforts.
