Matthew Boyd, born Matthew Robert Boyd is an American professional baseball player who plays the position of a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). Matthew earns an annual salary of $5.2 million from the Giants.

Matthew was born on February 2, 1991, in the town of Bellevue, Washington in the USA. He attended Mercer Island High School as a freshman and then transferred to Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish, Washington where he played baseball for the school team.

After high school, he enrolled at Oregon State University where he played college baseball for the University throughout his studies there. Between 2011 and 2012, Matthew played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was named a league all-star in 2012.

During the 2013 MLB draft, the Toronto Blue Jays chose him in the 6th round of the draft. He received a signing bonus of $75,000 after which he was assigned to play with the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts to make his professional debut. He was then promoted to the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays, where he would spend the rest of the 2013 season.

In March 2022, the San Francisco Giants signed a one-year contract of $5.2 million with Matthew. He plays for the Giants even today.
