Matthew Manotoc, born Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc happens to be a Filipino politician and athlete from Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. He is one of the grandsons of former Filipino president, Ferdinand Marcos.
Matthew is the youngest son of his parents. When he was born, his parents were in exile in Morocco because they were using false passports. He had his college education in 2006, at Claremont McKenna College in the USA.
During the 2019 Philippine gubernatorial elections, he ran as governor of Ilocos Norte and he won. He then decided to make health services more accessible and more inclusive by funding and upgrading medical facilities and public health programs for citizens of the Philippines.
Matthew also launched his flagship program tagged, “NariMAT Nga Aglawlaw,” which aimed to strengthen Ilocos Norte’s bid for a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.
Matthew Manotoc Parents: Meet Imee Marcos and Tommy Manotoc
Matthew Manotoc was born to parents Imee Marcos and Tommy Manotoc. His father, Tommy, full name Tomás “Tommy” La’O Manotoc Sr. is a former basketball coach and a golfer. During his time as a coach, he has won six PBA titles, including a grand slam with the fabled Crispa Redmanizers. He was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in October 2011.
Matthew’s mother, Imee Marcos, full name Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” Romualdez Marcos is also a politician in the Philippines and happens to be the current Senator of the country.
