Mauricio Andre Dubón, a professional baseball shortstop and center fielder for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, was born on July 19, 1994. (MLB).
In the 26th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, the Boston Red Sox picked Dubón out of high school. He played for the San Francisco Giants before making his Major League Baseball debut in 2019 with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Dubón was raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he attended the Liceo Bilingue Centroamericano. After a Christian baseball mission team visited Honduras when Dubón was 15 years old, he began to put forth more effort to stand out on the field.
After watching Dubón play, the Capital Christian High School approached him about joining them in returning to the United States so he could develop his baseball abilities while finishing high school.
As a foreign exchange student, Dubón relocated to Sacramento, California, to attend Capital Christian.
Dubón was drafted by the Red Sox in the 26th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Soon after signing, Dubón was promoted to the Lowell Spinners after batting.245 in 20 games for the GCL Red Sox.
Dubón was exchanged for Michael Papierski by the Houston Astros on May 14, 2022, after he had previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Francisco Giants.
