Her family has stated that they have received confirmation that Makenna Elrod was one of the victims slain in the horrific shooting that took place at a Texas elementary school.
At least 19 students and two instructors were murdered when the suspected shooter, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, opened fire on Tuesday at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, a tiny working-class town close to the Mexico border. Ramos was arrested and charged with capital murder.
According to information released Wednesday by the Texas Department of Public Safety, all of the victims were found dead inside of a single classroom.
Following his statement that he felt “she may not be alive,” Makenna Elrod’s father has been conducting a frantic hunt for his daughter. A friend of the family afterward verified that she had passed away.
Brandon Elrod was quoted as saying to the television station KTRK, “It’s very terrible what this world is heading to.”
The mother of Makenna’s buddy from her gymnastics class posted the following message online:
“Sweet Makenna Rest in Paradise!! My heart is shattered as my daughter Chloe loved her so much!!”
