Michael Degen was a German-Israeli actor who was born on January 31, 1932, and passed away on April 9, 2022, at the age of 90.
He was a theatre and film actor, theatre director, and writer. Degen was born in Chemnitz to Jewish parents and survived the Holocaust in Berlin as a child.
His father, a language professor and businessman named Jacob Degen, was imprisoned at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp during WWII. His father died of torture shortly after his release in 1940.
