Michael Lorenzen is an American professional baseball pitcher and outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Cincinnati Reds.

As a college baseball player, Lorenzen played outfield and pitched for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. The Reds selected Lorenzen in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft, and he made his MLB debut with the Reds in 2015. After the 2021 season, Lorenzen signed with the Los Angeles Angels.

During his high school years, Lorenzen was a member of the Fullerton Union High School baseball team. As a freshman, his batting average was over.400.

On June 15, 2010, the Tampa Bay Rays drafted Lorenzen in the 7th round. He chose to attend California State University, Fullerton rather than sign with a professional team and play baseball for the Titans.

In 2012, he was a nominee for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award and an All-American. Additionally, Lorenzen has represented the United States of America in baseball at the collegiate level. During the 2012 Cape Cod Baseball League season, he was a member of the Brewster Whitecaps.

According to Baseball America, Lorenzen was ranked the 52nd best prospect available for the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.
