Mickey Rooney Jr was an American actor. He was the eldest son of the actor Mickey Rooney and operated the Rooney Entertainment Group, a film and television production company. He was a born-again Christian who had an evangelical ministry in Hemet, California.
Rooney was born on July 3, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama to actors Mickey Rooney (1920-2014) and Betty Jane Rase (1927-2002), who had previously held the titles of Miss Birmingham and Miss Alabama respectively.
After making his debut in the Mickey Mouse Club in 1955 as a “Mouseketeer” alongside his brother Tim, he debuted in the film industry in 1967 with his first appearance, which was in Hot Rods to Hell.
After that, he had roles in the television film Beyond the Bermuda Triangle, which was broadcast in 1975, and the film Honeysuckle Rose, which was released in 1980.
Merci Montello, a former Playboy Playmate of the Month, was married to Rooney at one point in time. Rooney first met Laura Hollander in 1986, and the couple tied the knot on December 30 of that same year. They were married until she passed away in the year 2006.
Rooney passed away on July 16, 2022, at the age of 77, in the comfort of his home in Glendale, Arizona.
