Mika Tafua is a professional football player who plays as defensive end with the Dallas Cowboys football team in the National Football League. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 113 kg. He attended and played high school football at Kamehameha High School where he was a two-time first-team ILH All Star and two-time All-Hawaii, earning first-team honors as a junior.
He was also First-team all-state as a senior, earning the 2014 Interscholastic League of Honolulu co-Defensive Player of the Year. He played college football for the Utah Utes at the University of Utah. He redshirted his true freshman year in 2017. In 2018, he played in 11 games with six starts, three at right end and three at left end.
He took part in all 14 of his games in 2019 and started 13 of them. He started every game as a junior in 2020 and led the defensive line with 14 tackles. He also had two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble. During his last college season in 2021, he started every game at defensive end, earning him a spot on the Ted Hendricks Award Watch List.
His 49 tackles for the season included a league-high 9.5 sacks, three pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, one caused fumble, and one recovery. He was also in charge of the defensive line. Following the 2022 NFL Draft, Tafua was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent.
