Professional football player Mika Tafua is a defensive end for the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys. He stands 1.91 m tall and weighs 113 kg. He attended Kamehameha High School, where he played high school football, and was a two-time first-team ILH All Star and two-time All-Hawaii selection as a junior. As a senior, he was named to the First Team All-State.
He was also named the 2014 Co-Defensive Player of the Year by the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. At the University of Utah, he played college football for the Utah Utes. He redshirted in 2017, his actual freshman year. In 2018, he participated in 11 games, making six starts, three at right end and three at left end.
He appeared in all 14 games, starting 13 of them, during the 2019 season. In 2020, as a junior, he made each of his five starts and led the defensive line with 14 tackles. A forced fumble, three quarterback hurries, and two pass breakups were also produced by him. In each of the season’s 14 games as a defensive end during his senior year of college in 2021, he earned a spot on the Ted Hendricks Award Watch List.
In addition to leading the league with 9.5 sacks, he also led the defensive line with 49 total tackles, three pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, one caused fumble, and one recovery. After the 2022 NFL Draft, Tafua signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
