Mohammed Kudus is a Ghanaian offensive midfielder who competes for both the Ghanaian national team and Eredivisie club Ajax.
In January of 2018, Kudus, along with two other colleagues, Ibrahim Sadiq and Gideon Mensah, made the move from the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy to the Danish club Nordsjaelland. Kudus had joined the Ghanaian academy when he was just 12 years old.
Only three days after he turned 18, Kudus made his official debut for Nordsjlland in a match that they lost 2-0 to Brøndby IF.
As a striker, he was on the field from the opening minute of play until halftime, when he was substituted.
As a result of his debut, he moved up to ninth place on the all-time list of the club’s youngest players to make their debut.
Mohammed Kudus Ajax Career
Kudus completed his transfer to Ajax, a club that plays in the Eredivisie, on July 16, 2020, for the sum of nine million euros and a contract that lasts for five years.
On September 20th, in a league match against RKC Waalwijk, he was given his first official opportunity to play for the club.
In the aftermath of the match, head coach Erik ten Hag referred to Kudus as a player with “great promise.”
He continued his good play by scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his first three appearances, which brought his total to one goal and four assists.
On October 21, he made his debut for the club in the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool at their home stadium. Unfortunately, the match was a disaster.
After barely six minutes, Kudus was forced to leave the game due to a meniscus injury, which kept him out of action for several months.
