1. Joe Burrow

Burrow rebounded from a knee injury that ended his rookie season by leading the Bengals to their first postseason victory since 1990, ending the longest current drought in the four major North American sports, and their first appearance in the AFC Championship Game since 1988. He owns career highs for passer rating and completion %, as well as passing yards in a game, for the Bengals.

2. Ja’Marr Chase

With 266 receiving yards in a game as a rookie, Chase set NFL records for the most receiving yards by a rookie. As a side note, his 266 receiving yards set a new Bengals franchise record. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and the second team of the Associated Press All-Pros during his rookie season. As of January 20, 2022, Chase had broken Chad Johnson’s single-season receiving yardage record for the Dallas Cowboys. The Pro Football Writers of America selected him NFL offensive rookie of the year.

3. Evan McPherson

On Sept. 12, 2021, McPherson kicked his first regular-season field goal, a 53-yarder, against the Minnesota Vikings. McPherson kicked a 33-yard game-winning field goal in overtime to secure a 27-24 victory, which earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

4. Joe Mixon

In the Bengals’ 27–24 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, Mixon rushed for 127 yards and a score. He rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders.  In a 41-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12, Mixon rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

5. Chidobe Awuzie

Awuzie intercepted Jared Goff’s pass during the Los Angeles Rams’ 20–17 loss in Week 1. On September 26, 2020, he was placed on an injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. On November 10, 2020, he was activated. On December 10, 2020, the team put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list and activated him on December 16.
