Known professionally as Nick Allegretti, he was born on April 21, 1996, and plays guard for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. In college, he was a quarterback for the University of Illinois football team. Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he scored his first career touchdown on January 16, 2022, in his rookie season.
Allegretti studied at Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. During his time as a student, he participated in both the football and wrestling teams. As an offensive lineman, he was twice named to the All-State team, and he also made it to the state wrestling finals.
Allegretti was a member of the Illinois Fighting Illini’s offensive line, where he started as a freshman in the 2014 season. He remained with the Illinois Program for the duration of his collegiate career, with the 2018 season serving as his final season with the team.
He graduated from Illinois in May of 2018. His first season at Illinois was marked by a redshirt. Following that, he would appear in 48 consecutive games, including 36 of them as a starter, to finish his collegiate career with a total of 48 games played.
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Allegretti as the 216th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. He appeared in seven games as a rookie in 2019. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31–20 in Super Bowl LIV, which he helped win.
