Nick Folk, also known as Nicholas Alexander Folk, is a professional football player who is a placekicker for the NFL’s New England Patriots. He is 1.85 m tall and 101 kg in weight. He played football for the school’s football team while he was a student at Notre Dame High School. He received second-team honors as a placekicker and was selected “All-CIF” as a punter as a senior.
Folk played collegiate football for the Arizona Wildcats there after accepting a football scholarship from the University of Arizona. As a senior, he received All-Pac-10 recognition. He made 30 of 47 field goals, 79 of 81 extra points, and 96 punts for 4,242 yards throughout his college career. He studied marketing at Arizona.
In the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected him. He agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Jets in February of that year. The Jets renewed their contract with him in March 2011. In 27 opportunities during the 2012 season, he made 21 field goals. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired him as a free agent in March 2017.
He was cut loose by the Buccaneers in February 2018. He was acquired by the New England Patriots in October 2019. He won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award in October 2021 for his work in the Patriots’ 25-22 victory over the Houston Texans. In March 2022, he re-signed with the Patriots on a two-year, $5 million deal.
