Oswaldo Alberto Cabrera is a Venezuelan professional baseball shortstop who currently plays for the New York Yankees organization. Cabrera was born on March 1, 1999.
Cabrera comes from Guarenas in Venezuela. When he was 16 years old, he became a member of the Yankees organization as a free agent. After the 2021 season, Cabrera was recognized as the most valuable player in the Double-A Northeast division.
The Yankees have added him to their 40-man roster, which prevents him from being taken in the Rule 5 draft and makes him ineligible for future drafts. Cabrera will begin the 2022 season with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders after the Yankees elected to send him on an option to that team.
