Phil Hellmuth is an American professional poker player who has won a record sixteen World Series of Poker bracelets. Hellmuth was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 16, 1964.
While a student at the University of Wisconsin, he began playing poker. He dropped out of university after three years to pursue his passion for poker full-time.
At the age of 24, Hellmuth became the youngest player to ever win the World Series of Poker.

As of 2008, Hellmuth has made it to the final table of more than 20 World Series of Poker tournaments, and he had a total of eleven WSOP gold bracelets, which put him ahead of players like Doyle Brunson and Jonny Chan.
