1. Jack Lambert
During his career, Lambert was selected to nine Pro Bowls and six All-Pro teams. Two years after being voted NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1974, he was crowned Defensive Player of the Year for his performance in 1976. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990 after winning four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
2. Jack Ham
Outside linebacker Jack Ham is a Steelers legend and a Hall of Famer in the NFL. His contributions to the Steelers’ success in the 1970s cannot be overstated. In his 12-year NFL career, Ham was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times and the All-Pro team six times.
He was a dynamic outside linebacker who won four Super Bowls and had 32 interceptions to his credit over the course of his illustrious career. His induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame was announced by the National Football League in 1988.
3. James Farrior
Almost every season since joining the Steelers, Farrior has led the club in tackles, and the defense has never been ranked below the top 10 since his arrival. In 2005, 2008, and 2010, Farrior and the Steelers’ defense guided the team to three Super Bowl appearances.
They won two of their three games, but their defense will be remembered as one of the greatest in history.
4. James Harrison
During his 14 years with the Steelers, Jack Ham recorded an astounding 80.5 sacks, making him the all-time leader in that category. When the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2008, he was voted the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
In that year’s Super Bowl, his 100-yard interception return against the Cardinals and quarterback Kurt Warner set a record for the longest ever interception return.
5. Greg Lloyd
During his ten years with the Steelers, Greg Llyod appeared in five straight Pro Bowls and was named to three straight All-Pro teams. He also helped the team reach the Super Bowl in 1995. This ranks him seventh in Steelers franchise history with 53.5 sacks accumulated.
