An Indian comedian, actor, and politician by the name of Raju Srivastava was also known by the stage name Gajodhar. He has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2014. He stated in an interview from 2009 that he was concerned about the vulgarity present in comedy programs.
He said that the comics should learn self control. In 2010, Srivastav received ominous phone calls from Pakistan urging him not to make jokes about Pakistan and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim on his shows. He had performed more than 2,800 live engagements by 2009. Srivastava was a candidate for the Samajwadi Party in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur.
He returned the ticket on March 11th, 2014, claiming that the local party units were not supporting him enough. On March 19, 2014, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party just a few days after leaving SP. He had recorded commercials for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as one of its brand ambassadors. On August 10, 2022, as he was exercising in the gym, he experienced a heart attack shortly after complaining of chest pain.
He had angioplasty surgery and was put on a ventilator. During his treatment, his brain showed signs of swelling, and he received care from neurologists as well. His health had been described as grave ever since the heart attack, and on September 21, 2022, he passed away while receiving treatment at Delhi AIIMS.

Raju Srivastav had two children. A son called Aayushmaan Srivastava and a daughter named Antra Srivastav. Aayushmaan is a sitar player. He attended London School of Economics and Political Science.
Antra Srivastav graduated from HR College of Commerce and Economics. She currently works in the media industry.
