Raju Srivastava was an Indian comedian, actor, and politician. He was frequently credited as Gajodhar. He has been a Bharatiya Janata Party member since 2014. He expressed his concern about vulgarity in comedy shows in an interview from 2009 at the time. He thought the comics ought to learn self restraint.
Srivastav received threatening phone calls from Pakistan in 2010 telling him not to joke about Pakistan and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim during his presentations. He performed more than 2,800 live performances by 2009.
For the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party ran Srivastava from Kanpur. He returned the ticket on March 11 because he felt the party’s local units weren’t backing him enough. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on March 19, 2014, just a few days after leaving SP. As a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan brand ambassador, he had recorded commercials for the initiative.
He began to have chest pain just before having a heart attack on August 10, 2022, while exercising in the gym. After having an angioplasty, a ventilator was attached to him. His brain showed signs of swelling while he was receiving treatment, and he also saw neurologists.
