Roenis Elas is a Cuban left-handed professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. Roenis Elas was born on August 1, 1988.
He made his MLB debut in 2014. His past teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) were the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Nationals.
Elas participated in the Cuban National Series for two seasons while pitching for Guantánamo. During the 2008–2009 season,

Elas fled Cuba in 2010 with the intention of signing a professional contract with a team in Major League Baseball. From Cuba to Cancun, Mexico, he took a boat that would take him 30 hours to get there.
At the beginning of his career, he was a member of the “B” squad for the Sultanes de Monterrey, which competed in the Mexican League.
