Sam Williams, also known as Samuel Degarrick Williams, is a defensive end with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He is 1.93 m tall and 118 kg in weight. He played football for the school’s football team while he was a student at Robert E. Lee High School.
He spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons playing college football at Northeast Mississippi Community College before transferring to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) for his junior and senior years. He participated in college football with the Ole Miss Rebels at Ole Miss.
He participated in 12 games during his debut season at Ole Miss in 2019 and recorded 38 tackles, six sacks, and one interception. While starting six of the team’s ten games in 2020, he recorded 40 tackles, 8.0 tackles for a loss, and four sacks. He sacked more opponents than ever before in a single season in 2021, when he was back at Ole Miss. He was selected to the second team All-America in 2021, his senior year, by Walter Camp and Sporting News.
The Associated Press and Phil Steele both named him to the third team of All-America, and he was chosen for the Southeastern Conference’s first team. His 57 total tackles were the most by a Rebel defensive lineman since 2018, and his 10.5 sacks tied a school record. During the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected him.
