Scott Oberg is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Scott Oberg made his minor league debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2012. The team selected him in the amateur draft in 2012, in the 15th round.
During the 2012 season, Oberg had a 2.33 ERA and 13 saves in 25 appearances with the Grand Junction Rockies. He posted a 1.86 ERA with 33 saves and 61 strikeouts in 53 1/3 innings for the Modesto Nuts in 2013.
Against the San Jose Giants on June 24th, he threw a no-hitter in relief of Nelson Gonzalez, who had previously relieved Daniel Winkler. With the Tulsa Drillers of the Texas League, he went 0-1 with 15 saves in 27 appearances in 2014.
When reliever John Axford had to take time off to care for his young kid following a rattlesnake bite, he was called up to the big leagues by the Denver Broncos. On April 14th, Oberg was victorious in his major league debut.
There were four scoreless innings from starter Christian Bergman, thus it was kind of an undeserved victory for the Red Sox.
