Scottie Scheffler is one of the best golfers in America and has currently been ranked as the world’s number one golfer. He plays on the PGA Tour and after he defeated Rory Mcllroy in the 2022 Masters Tournament, he became the 5th golfer to enter the Master’s Tournament and be ranked number 1 in the whole world.
Scottie was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on June 21, 1996. He attended Highland Park High School where he was a golf player and also a basketball player. After high school, he continued at the University of Texas where he played golf for the University.
In college, he was named “Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year” in 2015 after he helped the golf team win three Big 12 championships. He qualified for the USA golf opening in both 2016 and 2017.
In August 2019, Scottie won the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship that was held in Columbus. He hit a 4-under 67 in the final round of the competition at Ohio State University’s Scarlet Course which led to a two-shot victory.
At the end of the competition, Scottie was leading both the Finals points list and the overall points list which earned him a fully exempt PGA Tour card for the 2020 golf season. He was later named “Korn Ferry Tour Player” of the Year.
