Shinzo Abe is a politician from Japan who formerly held the offices of Prime Minister of Japan from 2006 to 2007 and President of the Liberal Democratic Party from 2012 to 2020. He served as prime minister of Japan for the longest period of time.
Abe previously worked for Junichiro Koizumi as Chief Cabinet Secretary from 2005 to 2006, and he temporarily led the opposition in 2012.
In the 1993 election, Abe won a seat in the House of Representatives. In September 2005, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi appointed him Chief Cabinet Secretary.

According to national broadcaster NHK, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, one of the country’s most influential leaders was shot and died while attending a campaign event in Nara, near Osaka.
The 67-year-old Abe served as Japan’s prime minister from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020, making him one of the country’s most prominent political figures. Since it was created in 1955, his center-right Liberal Democratic Party has controlled Japanese politics.
