He was born on February 28, 1998, in the American city of Lenox, Iowa. He attended Lenox High School, where he participated in baseball, basketball, golf, and track in addition to playing defensive end and tight end for the school’s eight-man football team.
With 24 receptions for 388 yards and seven touchdowns on offense, 67 tackles, a state-best 17 sacks, and four fumble recoveries on defense, he was selected first team All-State as a senior. At the University of Northern Iowa, he also participated in collegiate football with the Panthers. In addition to switching from tight end to offensive lineman and gaining over 80 pounds, Brown redshirted his true freshman season.
He was selected to the second team of the Missouri Valley Football Conference as a redshirt junior who started every game for the Panthers. Phil Steele awarded him a preseason first team FCS All-American before he declared he will forgo his senior redshirt season and get ready for the 2021 NFL Draft. In April 2021, the Buffalo Bills selected him with the 93rd overall choice in the NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year rookie contract with the Buffalo Bills in July 2021. He was moved up to right tackle for his first professional start in October 2021.
