Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke plays for the National Football League. He is 95 kg in weight and 1.85 m tall. He graduated from Collins Hill High School, where as a junior he earned a spot on the all-state team after helping Collins Hill to a 10-4 record and a trip to the Class AAAAA quarterfinals.
He received the Old Spice National Player of the Year award from Georgia, which is given to 50 varsity football players from high schools, as a senior. He attended Old Dominion University (ODU) on a sports scholarship, and from 2011 to 2014, he was a member of the Old Dominion Monarchs football team.
He was among the top 10 FBS quarterbacks at the end of the 2013 season in terms of passing yards, passing yards per game, and touchdown passes. Heinicke joined the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft. In September 2017, he was added to the New England Patriots’ practice squad, but in October, he was released.
In November 2017, he signed up for the Houston Texans practice squad, then in April 2018, the Carolina Panthers claimed him off waivers. In December 2020, Heinicke joined the Washington Commanders’ practice squad. In the 2022 season opener for the Commanders against the Green Bay Packers, he threw for 200 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
