He debuted in the Rookie-level Pioneer League with the Billings Mustangs, hitting two home runs in his first game. In total, he had a .347 batting average, three home runs, and 17 RBIs in 29 games in 2016.

In 2017, he split his time between the Dayton Dragons and the Daytona Tortugas, batting.273 with seven home runs, 38 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases in 114 games for both organizations.

Friedl batted .284/.381/.384 with five home runs, 51 RBIs, and thirty stolen bases in 131 at-bats with both Daytona and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in 2018.

Friedl hit .235/.347/.385/.732 with five home runs and 28 RBIs for the Chattanooga Lookouts this season. He did not play in 2020 since the Minor League Baseball season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He hit .264/.357/.422/.779 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs for the Louisville Bats in 2021.

Friedl’s contract was selected to the active roster by the Reds on September 18, 2021. That day, he made his major league debut as a pinch bat. On September 19, Friedl hit his first home run in the major leagues.
