Tom Melvin is an American football coach who is the tight ends coach for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). His cousin, Bob Melvin, is the manager of the San Diego Padres.

Melvin joined the Eagles following an eight-year stretch at Occidental College, where he filled in as the school’s hostile facilitator and hostile line mentor.

In 1993, he drove the Tigers to a then-school record of 326 focuses and 2,526 hurrying yards en route to an 8-1 record.

Prior to his time at Occidental, he filled in as the hostile facilitator/hostile line mentor at the University of California-Santa Barbara.

At UCSB, Melvin coordinated the country’s fifth-positioned offense in 1989 while training five All-America determinations.

From 1982-83, Melvin played on the offensive line at San Francisco State University. During the 1983 season, his position coach at SFSU was current Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid.
