Tony Dow is an American actor, film producer, director, and sculptor. He is best known for his role in the television sitcom Leave It to Beaver, which ran in primetime from 1957 to 1963.
In 1986, he contributed to the production of The New Leave It to Beaver by writing an episode. Because of his performance as Wally Cleaver, the Young Artist Foundation bestowed upon him 1987 its Former Child Star Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the industry.
In 1989, Dow made his directorial debut with an episode of The New Lassie. Since then, he has directed episodes for the television shows Get a Life, Harry and the Hendersons, Coach, Babylon 5, Crusade, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, among others.
He was the supervisor of visual effects for the Babylon 5 television show. In 1996, he worked on the visual effects for the television movie Doctor Who, which was produced by Fox.
Dow’s most recent performance on screen was in the movie Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, which was released in 2003.
In the month of April 2019, Dow was observed promoting multiple old television series, including the television show “Leave It to Beaver” and other similar shows, on the television network MeTV.
