The Documentary
Trent “Silverback” Williams, a football sensation, is the subject of this documentary. Trent “Silverback” Williams, the top offensive lineman in the NFL during the last decade, fought life-threatening cancer on his head and went on to become the highest-paid offensive lineman in league history.
The film also features NFL stars Adrian Peterson, Vernon Davis, Chris Ivory, and others, including 5-time Grammy winner Lil Wayne (who is also one of Trent’s greatest friends).
For his stature and speed, the San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle known as the “Silverback” is writing one of the most incredible comeback tales in NFL history. Trent detected a bump on his head in 2014 while working for Washington that grew slowly and was difficult to diagnose, according to the summary.
Then, in January of this year, Trent was given a dire prognosis: He had a rare and deadly sarcoma on his scalp that was just weeks away from sharing to his skull and, possibly, his brain.
Trent rebounded to form in 2020 and was nominated to his ninth Pro Bowl, before securing a $138 million contract earlier this year—the most profitable contract for an offensive lineman ever. Trent speaks out for the first time about one of the sports’ most bizarre ordeals and comebacks.
Jared Zwerling directed and executive produced The Trent Williams Story.
