Felipe “Tres” Barrera III, simply called Tres Barrera is a professional baseball player of Mexican descent known to play in the major leagues for the Washington Nationals baseball team. He plays as a catcher for the team.

He was born and raised by Felipe and Sylvia Barrera in Eagle Pass in Texas on September 15, 1994. Tres played high school baseball at Sharyland High School. When he completed high school, he enrolled at the University of Texas to play college baseball for the school’s baseball team.

Before he graduated from the University, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League and also played for the Orleans Firebirds. The Washington Nationals drafted him during the 2016 MLB draft.

Tres agreed to play for them and signed with them. He was assigned to the Auburn Doubledays of Class A Short Season New York–Penn League that year to begin his professional career. Before the 2019 minor league season started, the Nationals selected him to play in the Arizona Fall League for Salt River Rafters.

He was called up to the major leagues by the Nationals in September 2019. He made him for them on September 14, 2019, when they faced the Atlanta Braves.
