Was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Sacked As Burton Manager?
According to multiple sources, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has stepped down from his position as manager of Burton Albion.
In January of 2021, the former striker began his second spell as manager at the Pirelli Stadium. He led the team to safety in the previous season and then to 16th place in the following season (2021-22).
But the manager who once worked at QPR and Northampton has had a terrible start to the new season, as Burton has earned just one point through their first seven matches.
This occurred in August during a match against Accrington Stanley in which the score was tied 4-4.
On Saturday, they were defeated away at Oxford by a score of 2-1, bringing their total number of goals allowed to a staggering 20.
As a consequence, the Brewers are currently in last place in League One with a goal difference of -12.
And the team from the East Midlands are already six points away from being eliminated from playoff contention.
Burton was eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Rochdale in the first round, but they were victorious in the EFL Trophy with a 4-2 victory over Leicester’s Under-21s. This was the lone win for Burton this season.
The news broke just a few short hours after the former Leeds and Middlesbrough great appeared as a commentator on Super Sunday to discuss the Premier League matches that took place at Brighton and Manchester United.
