As an offensive lineman for the Washington Commanders, Wes Martin plays in the National Football League. He is 143 kg and 1.91 m tall. While a student at Milton-Union High School, he participated in football. There, he was named first team All-Ohio and offensive lineman of the year in the Southwestern Buckeye League.
As a 3-star prospect, he decided to attend Indiana University over other offers. He played collegiate football for the Indiana University Hoosiers for five years. During his redshirt junior and senior years, he started 43 of the 50 games he played total, and he was named All-Big Ten honorable mention.
In the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, with the 131st overall choice, Martin was selected by the Washington Redskins. In a 24-3 loss to the New York Giants in September 2019, he made his NFL debut at right guard, starting the game. In September 2021, he signed with the New York Giants, and in December of that same year, he was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The following month, he was reactivated, and on May 10, 2022, he was released. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked him up off waivers the following day. On August 23, 2022, the Jaguars released him. On August 24, 2022, the Washington Commanders claimed him off waivers; however, he was later released and re-signed on September 5, 2022, to their practice squad.
