He played in all 12 games as a junior in 2018, starting 10, and he had 55 catches for 794 yards and eight touchdowns on those plays.
In 2019, Mims returned to Baylor for his senior season and started all 13 games for the Bears. He finished the year with 66 receptions, 1,020 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. His collegiate career came to a close in the 2020 Sugar Bowl, which featured a matchup between two teams with records of 11–2: the Baylor Bears and the Georgia Bulldogs.
