Brandon Jones earns a living by playing as a safety for the Miami Dolphins, who compete in American football and are members of the National Football League.
Jones spent his childhood in Nacogdoches, Texas, and went to high school in the nearby town of Nacogdoches, where he participated in football and ran track.
Jones was recognized as the best defensive player in District 16-5A, first team All-State, and the Texas Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today after he finished his senior season with 124 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and two interceptions.
He was also named the defensive player of the year in Texas. Additionally, he was given an invitation to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game that took place in 2016.
Jones was ranked as a top five safety recruit nationally by most recruiting services (Scout.com ranked him as the number one safety recruit in the country), and he was a top 50 prospect overall for his class.
Jones chose to sign with the University of Texas to play college football on National Signing Day despite receiving offers to do so from Alabama, Baylor, LSU, Oregon, and Texas A&M.
The Miami Dolphins selected Jones with the 70th overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was added to the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list on August 6, 2020.
