During the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, fullback Alec Ingold suffered an ACL tear in his right knee.
On Monday, Raiders Interim Head Coach Rich Bisaccia confirmed the injury that would end the player’s season.
“It’s a significant loss,” Bisaccia remarked. “Once more, it’s not just the player, but who he is and what he offers to our squad, as well as the leadership position and the role that he plays as a man,”.
On social media, both former and current members of the Raiders organization expressed their solidarity for Ingold.
A member of the same team, Kenyan Drake, posted the following message on Twitter: “Sending strength and prayers to the engine of our team @AI XLV.”
Another teammate Maxx Crosby, posted on Twitter, “blessed to call you my teammate” (@AI XLV).
This season, Ingold has 10 receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown, although he is best renowned for his blocking abilities.
He was a significant contributor to the offensive for the Silver and Black, and his absence will be felt for the remainder of the season.
Raider Nation will be keeping their fingers crossed that Ingold will make a full recovery in time for the 2022 season.
