Ty Montgomery II is a professional American football player in the National Football League. He plays as a running back and wide receiver for the New England Patriots football team. His height is 1.83 m and he weighs 98 kg. He attended St. Mark’s School of Texas located in Dallas, Texas. He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal football team at Stanford University where he was enrolled at from 2011 to 2014.
He played under head coach David Shaw and he finished his collegiate career with 172 receptions for 2,125 yards and 15 touchdown receptions. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round with the 94th overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. In May 2015, he signed his rookie contract with the Packers.
In October 2018, he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. In April 2019, he signed with the New York Jets. In the 2019 season, he recorded 32 carries for 103 rushing yards to go along with 13 receptions for 90 receiving yards. He signed with New Orleans Saints in May 2020. He got injured during the season and was placed on injured reserve in September 2020.
He was activated in November 2020. In March 2021, Montgomery re-signed with the Saints on a one-year contract. In March 2022, he signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract with the New England Patriots. He was placed on injured reserve on September 13 due to an injury.
