Alex was a member of the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League’s Double A affiliate in 2016.

To gain promotion to Triple-A and the Fresno Grizzlies before the end of June, he slugged.297 with 16 doubles and 14 home runs in 62 games.

He slugged .264 with eight home runs and 34 RBI in 49 games. USA Today’s Minor League Player of the Year Award and the 2016 Topps All-Star Rookie Team designated him as a recipient.
