Darren Reginald Hall is an American football player who plays as a cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. He was born on May 2, 2000, in Baldwin Park, California. He played college football at San Diego State.
Hall played for San Diego State for four years. With 25 PD and 6 INT in 30 games as a starter, Hall is a natural ballhawk. He also employs a tough coverage style and possesses excellent zone instincts.
He has also consistently displayed solid tackling and the potential to cause havoc in the backfield as a quality run defender. Hall primarily served as a depth player in 2021. He participated on special teams and played more than 60% of the snaps in three of the games he began.
Hall struggled occasionally in coverage but occasionally showed signs of promise when playing in the slot, especially as a run defender.
The Atlanta Falcons selected Hall in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, 108th overall. On June 17, 2021, he agreed to a four-year rookie deal with Atlanta playing the position of cornerback.
For the Falcons in his second season, Darren Hall is expected to play a big rotational and depth role.
Hall should once again play a significant part on special teams because of his inside/outside versatility and year of experience in the scheme, which might make him the “first man up” in the event of an injury.
