Andrew Gregory Strotman is a baseball pitcher from the United States who now plays for the Minnesota Twins organization.
Cupertino, California’s Homestead High School was where Strotman received his secondary education.
He finished his senior year with a record of 6-3 and an earned run average of 0.54. After graduating from high school, he did not get drafted and instead enrolled at Saint Mary’s Collegiate in California, where he played baseball for the college team.
In 2015, Strotman’s first year as a student at Saint Mary’s, he pitched 34 2/3 innings and had a record of 2-3 with an earned run average of 8.57.
In 2016, as a sophomore, he pitched in a total of 22 games (including three starts), compiling a record of 3-5 with a 3.96 earned run average (ERA).
In 2017, Strotman’s junior year, he pitched in 18 games (seven of which were starts) and threw 67 innings, striking out 75 hitters while posting a record of 6-1. His earned run average was 4.57.
After the season had concluded, he was chosen by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
After signing with the Rays, Strotman made his debut in the major leagues with the Hudson Valley Renegades of the Class A Short Season New York-Penn League, where he posted a record of 2-3 with an earned run average of 1.78 in 11 appearances (seven starts).
