In American baseball, one of the professional pitchers in the major leagues is Jacob Timothy Bird, professionally called Jake Bird. He plays for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. He has a height of 1.91 m and weighs 91 kg. He made his MLB debut for the Rockies on June 16 2022.
Jake played high school baseball at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, California. He then enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Whiles at the University, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
The Colorado Rockies drafted Jake in the 5th round of the 2018 MLB draft. He agreed to play for them and signed with the team. He was assigned to play for the Grand Junction Rockies of the Rookie-level Pioneer League that year to begin his professional career. He spent the next season with the Asheville Tourists of the Class A South Atlantic League.
The 2020 minor league season was cancelled thus he did not play that year. In 2021, he started the season with the Hartford Yard Goats of the Double-A Northeast and was later promoted to the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Triple-A West. He also played in the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters.
