Edwards did not receive a selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and instead signed on as an undrafted free agent in May. In October 2020, he sustained a hamstring injury, leading to his placement on injured reserve. He made a crucial play when, with the Eagles trailing 18-13 against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, he blocked a punt in the fourth quarter.
Edwards was chosen as the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in that game, which resulted in the Eagles’ victory. He signed a one-year, $3.2 million contract with the Eagles after turning up an outstanding performance in Week 11’s contest that included an interception and a fumble recovery.
