Big Brother Naija, previously known as Big Brother Africa, is a Nigerian reality television show in which 12 to 26 housemates live in an isolated house and compete for a grand prize of 60,000,000 (sixty million naira), which is equivalent to $171,428.57, as well as other material prizes such as cars and endorsement deals.
The housemates are voted out of the show, and those with the lowest number of votes are evicted. There have been six previous seasons. The show airs on DSTV’s Big Brother Naija channel.
Katung Aduwak won the first season of the reality show, which also featured Ebuka, one of the most popular housemates and the show’s current host.
Big Brother Naija first aired on Dstv Channel 37 from March 5 to June 4, 2006, with the first season premiering in 2006. Two new contestants were introduced to the game on Day 23, much to the delight of the other housemates.
The Nigerian version of the reality show Big Brother Naija Season 2 (2017), entitled “See Gobbe,” was the second season. Season 2 of BBNaija premiered on January 22, 2017, and lasted three months.
Ebuka Obi Uchendu, an ex-housemate, served as host.
