Travin Howard (born May 10, 1996) is an American football linebacker with the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams. He was a TCU football player in college.
Howard was born in Longview, Texas, and attended Longview High School, where he excelled. As a senior for the Lobos, he was named District Defensive MVP while playing safety. On February 5, 2014, he verbally committed to TCU and signed his national letter of intent with the Horned Frogs.
Howard had a limited role as a freshman at TCU in 2014. He was shifted to linebacker after the first game of his sophomore season, and the following week against Stephen F. Austin, he led the Horned Frogs in tackles.
He went on to start the following 11 games and finish the season with the most tackles on the club. In the 2015 Alamo Bowl, he was named Defensive MVP after leading TCU to a triple-overtime victory over Oregon.
Howard led the Horned Frogs in tackles again as a full-time starter in his junior and senior seasons in Fort Worth, becoming the first player in program history to do it three times. In both seasons, he was voted first-team All-Big 12, and in his final collegiate game, a win over Stanford in the 2017 Alamo Bowl, he was named Defensive MVP once again.
