Adames, Drew Smyly, and Nick Franklin were traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 31, 2014, while Austin Jackson was traded to the Seattle Mariners and David Price was traded to the Detroit Tigers.
He was assigned to the Bowling Green Hot Rods by the Rays, and he spent the rest of the season with them.
