Dalton Keene is an American football tight end who currently plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. Keene was born on April 14, 1999.
He attended Virginia Tech, where he participated in collegiate football. Keene spent his childhood in Littleton, Colorado, and went to Chatfield High School, where he participated in football in both the middle linebacker and running back positions, in addition to running track.
As a senior, he was chosen to be the first team of All-State after running for 1,175 yards and 18 touchdowns, earning him the honour.
After finishing his sophomore year with 28 catches, 341 receiving yards and three touchdowns, Keene has been recognized as an honourable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection.
Keene hauled in 21 receptions for 240 yards and five touchdowns during his junior season. Keene revealed that he would skip his last year of college eligibility to participate in the NFL Draft in 2020.
After 39 games played throughout his college career, he finished with 59 catches, 748 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns to his credit.
The New England Patriots chose Keene in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2020, making him the 101st overall choice. In his first game with the NFL, which took place in Week 7, he had one grab for eight yards.
Keene suffered a knee injury on November 10, 2020, and as a result, was placed on injured reserve. On December 5, 2020, he was put into active duty.
