Josh Hammond is an American football wide receiver for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Florida.
During his four years with the Florida Gators, Hammond was a member of the team. He completed his undergraduate career with 87 receptions for a total of 1,138 yards and six touchdowns.
In addition, he finished his career with 134 yards and two scores rushing. He appeared in 49 games.
On April 25, 2020, Hammond became a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after signing with the team.
During the final roster cuts, which took place on September 6, 2021, he was released from the team and re-signed to the practice squad the following day.
During the 2020 season, Hammond served as a member of the Jaguars’ practice squad. On January 4, 2021, he signed a reserve/future contract with the Jaguars.
The Jaguars released him at the conclusion of training camp on August 31, 2021, but he was re-signed to the practice squad of the team shortly after.
On December 26, 2021, Hammond was added to the active roster of the team for their Week 16 game against the New York Jets. He made his debut in the National Football League (NFL) during that game.
