Marquis Hayes’ professional football career is now being played with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He performs offensive guard duties for the Cardinals. He weighs 147 kg and is 1.96 meters tall. At Pattonville High School in Maryland Heights, Missouri, where he spent his junior and senior years, he played football.
Despite receiving offers from other universities and being a four-star prospect coming out of high school, he decided to play collegiate football at Oklahoma. He played collegiate football from 2017 through 2021 for the Oklahoma Sooners. In reality, he redshirted his rookie year at Oklahoma. He played three games as a redshirt freshman offensive tackle in 2018.
He started all 13 of Oklahoma’s games as a redshirt sophomore while switching from being the Sooners’ backup left guard. When the 2020 Sooners’ season was cut short by COVID-19, he switched to right guard and started 11 games. He started all 13 of Oklahoma’s games as a redshirt senior, switching back to left guard.
He announced that he would be participating in the NFL Draft in 2022 once the season ended. As the 257th overall pick in the 2022 Draft, Hayes was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round. On August 30, 2022, he was put on injured reserve.
